What is your fatal flaws in writing and drawing that is keeping you from making vast improvements?
I was interested in this question for a while but didn't know if anyone would be willing to look into it. I'm not the greatest artist and I don't think I could ever write something worth reading. But maybe hearing others might give me a bit more confidence. XD

My biggest flaw is perhaps falling for the same character tropes with male characters. It doesn't show too much because I don't share most of my stories but the ones I do share I have distinct personalities. For female I have a tendency to make them similar to L from death note and I wish to change that.
For drawing my problem is keeping the anatomy symmetrical. I want to win for a more realistic style but I can't draw hands and feet just right.

My biggest problem with writing is getting the ball rolling. My pacing is something I'm trying to work on, hence why I haven't shared much of anything on here.
Anatomy seems to be a big problem among artists, but for me, it's seeing the whole picture. I tend to sectionalize and only realize a part looks wonky when I'm done and zoomed out and looking at it as a finished work. It's quite frustrating.

I also have issues with pacing. Usually due to how I organize things in a very precise way that most common reader doesn't agree with. It's not the problem of pacing but where I choose to end a chapter. Ending where the reader wants it usually leads me to need to restructure the whole thing.

Recently I've come to discover that my writing gets weakened by overuse of adverbs. It was never something I thought about until I had Applied Grammar and Creative Prose Writing as two of my courses for this past semester. I'm working on it, but it's a tough habit to break. Adverbs are just so...helpful.

Sitting down and doing it. That is the problem.
My whole book is framed out and most of the dialog is there I just need to fill it in... and then do the xmas special ending.

Biggest flaw in art outside of typical anatomy problems is that I only draw what's in my field of comfort. I always have these amazing thoughts in my head, but for some reason, all that ever makes it onto paper is the stuff that I'm capable of drawing, and I end up hating the piece because all I see when I look at it are the things that could have happened.
Biggest flaw in writing, outside of the fact that I'm not an experienced writer by any means, is the fact that I'm always afraid of writing a full script for a story of mine. I've had multiple stories, most short and one massive one, that I've never written a full script for. An old story of mine, Gransora, is currently sitting on my hard drive in the shape of dozens of messy Word files that no one other than myself can understand. Even the current short story that I'm working on, "Reverse", is made up of a bunch of Word files. I want to turn it into a script and eventually a full blown manga, but I lack the ability to simply start.

Well you should definitely share your story. Gransora and reverse sound like interesting story titles. The first one gives me a one piece vine.

Presently I seem to be having issues completing even small projects. I've tried doing short comics that shouldn't last beyond twenty pages and I've only ever finished one fanfic in my life that wasn't a oneshot--and it was only about 24k words. I plan to combat this by sucking it up and finishing something--starting with these projects I have to do for class.

I'm hoping to do so, but in art form. I used to do a lot of one shots back on MR, which are basically an entire story's main concept and idea summarized into one chapter. I'm a lot more comfortable sharing my art than my writing, because I've been drawing my entire life but never really dabbled in pure writing outside of my stories.
But who knows what may happen. I might suddenly find myself starting a script one day, in which case I'll definitely share.

I know dat feel with both, it is so disheartening sometimes, isn't it?
Your initial concepts for Gransora that you used to post always looked interesting, it's a shame you never completed it. I'm sure Reverse will live up to the hype im making in my head for it :P
