No one sits perfectly symmetrical to the point that one leg covers the other completely. Im aware of the shadow and if the shadow exists to show that the leg is in a different position or at least visible the redt should be visible as well.

Drawing the leg completely and how it's positioned could change the overall pose of the character. Not saying it will fix it completely but show us what you were intending.

That shadow of the other leg is very awkward if you choose to pay attention to it. I can tell that you were focusing only on one leg and added the shadow AFTER rather than both legs.

So always draw both even if you think it's going to be hidden. Otherwise if you assume the flaws are much easier to point out.

I'll try to adjust it in my free time tomorrow.

I really like your style. My only problem is that blood stain on the wall looks too cartoony. But I like all of it. Looks like an old photo that would have that coloring.

Sorry I haven't been around in the past couple days.

@Orchid: Thanks! Yeah I see what you mean, the bloodstain looked okay in the rough sketch but when cleaned up, it looks out of place.

@J_Draws: I had to view your previous posts to know that you're Jaimie XD Great to see you here.

After taking a closer look at your process. The second stage of your process makes more sense for the female character.since both legs and feet are drawn, I can see Her legs were a little more spread apart which explains the pose she has now. It's not perfect but it still less awkward.

I see, I'll work on the legs pose from that stage then and see where it'll go.
I haven't had the time or desire to draw since my last post, but I'm currently working on another piece from the same setting with the same characters, only at a different time. I'm hoping to post a progress of it later today.

As per promise, here's a rough sketch of the current piece I'm working on. It depicts an event a few hours after the one shown in the previous drawing, where Jack gets patched up by Erica. I had to use reference for her bottom half since I couldn't manage to draw her legs for the life of me.

As always, criticism is very appreciated. I'd like to know where I can improve before I finalize it.

If the guy is lying down and injured, I don't see any reason for his leg to be up like that. I also think that the female (Erica?)'s right leg (our left) is too much in profile for the pose with her body, especially her hips, facing forward. Turning it just a little bit to face forward slightly will make it look more natural.

Outside of that, I really can't complain about anything here. Everything else I see will probably be fixed in the finalized lineart (like the cigarette looking not completely in her mouth).

Thanks for the critiques!
The guy is supposed to be conscious and chilling alongside her, which is why his leg is like that, but I forgot to draw the cigarette in his mouth. As for the girl's leg, I completely agree, I'll have it fixed for the final product.

For now, here's a slightly updated one; just added a bit more details and fixed her hands. (I did it before I saw your comment, so excuse the girl's still faulty leg XD)

Hmm...not much to add here. I really like how you imply smoke, though. It's a neat technique.

I remember you like to use a lot of blood or some form of stain. I think what you need to work on is how blood drenched  clothing looks depending on how much and how dry.

Clothes tend to act like sponges depending on the cloth. I wouldn't imagine blood to be dropping off the cloth. Usually with that amount of blood it stays on the same spot.

The same for the mattress.

This took me a good while to finish.

I removed the blood from the mattress because as you mentioned, it didn't flow well. The stains on her shirt are supposed to be sweat, and even though they don't look like sweat would on cloth, I chose to keep them because they were simplistic and "cartoony" enough for the presentation I was going for.

I also simplified the man's wounds and stitches, but I honestly don't know I feel about them.

The choice of color palette was inspired by great artist Tomer Hanuka, whose work I've admired for quite a while.

As always, please feel free to state your opinions and criticism. It's always tough to fix a finished drawing, but I always try to take the notes and work on them in new drawings.

I think I prefer the implied smoke in the previous linework, because smoke is a living thing that moves around and expands, unlike the light from the phone. Having it in such a straight line doesn't seem natural.
